Sunday Is World Health Day

Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day:  Sunday is World Health Day.  The WHO (World Health Organization) has made this year's focus on health Hypertension.  High blood pressure can be insidious (can just 'creep up on you'), hereditary, or a result of unhealthy life styles.  Hypertension can lead to kidney failure, stroke, blindess, heart disease and death.  Get on the health wagon with the rest of the world this Sunday and do something healthy - eat right, exercise, meditate, have a few laughs.  If you haven't had your annual physical or had your blood pressure taken within the last few months, go get it done!  It takes less than 30 seconds and could mean the difference between life and death.

Weight Training For Health

Did you know that stronger people live longer healthier lives?  Strong muscle mass is a leading factor in regulating your blood sugar.  The energy spent during weight training burns beaucoup calories, which leads to overall weight loss.  Weight training is also beneficial to building stronger bone mass, which will help you during your senior silver years.

Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day:  If you're enrolled in a weight training program, stick with it!  If you're not doing any type of exercise, join a gym, purchase a few sessions with a qualified trainer and get yourself going with circuit training.  You'll feel better, look better and you'll longer and healthier.
