Just When You Thought You Burnt All Those Brain Cells

It had been long believed in the medical community that humans possessed a finite number of brain cells.  New stem cell research has determined that there are stem cells in the brain that have the ability to regenerate injured cells.  A Taiwanese study has shown that exercise could increase the number of brain cells in the area of the brain associated with memory and emotions (the hippocampus).  Since exercise reduces inflammation  and stress, positive changes can then be made in the brain.
