Give Your Parents A Break - They Paid Their Dues

Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day:  Some of my friends lost parents this weekend.  My friends are all independent adults and didn't burden their elderly parents with their own selfish life dilemmas.  When they saw their folks, they only told them stories of happiness and shared their dreams for their futures or their childrens' futures.  When it was time for their mother or father to leave our world, they told them it was ok and go in peace.  Your parents have paid their dues...they raised you.  Now it's up to you to be and act as an adult.  Do not burden your mother or father with your emotional, financial and social pollution....that's your own baggage to carry.  Treat your parents with respect, love and above all - gratitude.  It's their time to be appreciated.

Another Day Ahead of Us

Yesterday was quite the busy day at my clinic.  It began early and ended fairly late.  On my way home, I reviewed the cases I had seen during the day in my mind.  I concluded that it was a very good day indeed!  Injuries are healing, range of motion in limbs improving, stress reduction, pain dissipation...and best of all--I received a smile, a thank you, a hug or a kiss from all my patients.
At the end of the day, I felt appreciated, useful, and had that warm fuzzy feeling of having done something to make a difference in another person's life.

Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day:  remember to express some appreciation for those people you encounter who make life a little easier for you.  When the young person behind the coffee counter hands you that latte and says 'have a good day', don't just grunt and throw some dimes in the tip cup....smile and give them a cordial reply.  Play it forward.  Showing a little appreciation for others goes a long way.  If you treat other people like rabid dogs or ferrile cats, it will come back to you two-fold.
So.....be nice!
