Yesterday, The Wall St Journal posted this article. I thought it was very interesting and I'm sharing it today with all of you...
Refusing to Commit Has Never Been Easier, and It Says A Lot About Us,

But then electronic invites came along and made it way too easy for us to wriggle out of social engagements. All we had to do was click one little button: "Maybe." Once we saw how easy that was—no stressful decision or long explanation necessary—we started typing it into emails and texts...."

Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day: read this article. It's not that long and quite insightful. It seems that 'maybe' means many things to different people. I've been listening to my patients talking about this very topic over the past few years and the stress they experience from non-committing individuals. Remember, when a person sends you an invitation this holiday season with an rsvp, try to keep the drama to a minimum. Just reply 'yes' or 'no' by the rsvp date indicated. To respond 'maybe' before the rsvp date is just bad manners and a sign of the times.
