Staying WIth Plan Sometimes Takes More Than Dedication

I took a sojurn to Florida for a few days to relax and play golf.  I just lost 20lbs and have another 7lbs to reach my goal, so sticking to my lifestyle routine when out on the golf course for 4 to 5 hours per day took some planning.  The morning began with a visit to Publix Supermarket.  Two 2 litre bottles of water, one small container of fat free greek yoghurt, a package of freshly cut watermelon and my trusty bag of super trail mix were the weapons of choice to get me thru my day.  All was well until yesterday - the final day and the most fabulous golfing experience I've had to date.  I left all my packaged nutrition in the golf cart under the dashboard and went to hit some range balls.  As I was striking a ball, my companion yelled to me that a thief was stealing my lunch.  I turned to see a huge black bird making off with my bag of trail mix....essentially, this was the day's lunch until late in the day.  This was completely unacceptable.  I had been 'babying' my right knee all week after subluxing it 8 days prior, but that went completely out the window when I saw my lunch being swept away by a 'black chicken'.  The end result?  The golfers on this pristine, elegant and quite civilized golf course saw some crazy looking woman running at full speed, swinging her golf club in the air and yelling at a bird fleeing with her lunch to give it back or he'd be a chicken dinner.  Tiger Wood's wife is no match with a golf club when it comes to my lunch being swiped before my eyes.  Unfortunately the bird could fly faster and higher than I could run and jump.  My last words to him were 'I hope you choke on it'.  At the end of the afternoon, I sat down to a lovely tuna sandwich and revelled over the best day of golf I've ever had.  My three golf companions were impressed with some of my swings...little did they know I was practicing in case I ran into that bird one of of the holes!

Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day:  Life's cirucmstances sometimes get in the way of your best-laid nutrition plans.  When this happens, just do the best you can; tomorrow is another day.
