The Financial Times published an editorial commentary today that stated, "Healthcare growth is occurring across all societies, due to ageing populations and more effective, but more costly medicine, although the US suffers endemic waste due to its fragmented, market-led healthcare system..". "The US will spend $344bn a year treating obesity - more than one health dollar out of 5". The entire US pays the bill. The system is already unsupportable to carry the present burden of healthcare and this added cost per year is crippling.
Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day: Like many of you out there, I pay for my own healthcare and the idea that I have to now pay for morbidly obese people who purposefully place an added economic burden on we tax payers is galling. There is no magic bullet to weight loss. It takes, diet, exercise, modification of lifestyle and the desire to be healthy...that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. If you are having a tough time with your weight, make an appointment today and sign yourself into my Wellness Program. You'll be healthier, maybe a bit happier and look a lot better after the pounds start coming off your girth. First it was the smokers who were charged more for healthcare, you'll be next if you don't do something about your weight now. The taxpayers in America don't want to pay for the McDonald's Madness anymore. So, get with the program and do something for yourself and your fellow taxpayer today.
