I'm back from a much-needed holiday. 8 days of sun, sleep, yoga and other relaxing activities has me recharged and ready for another year! I tried something new while I was away...a Mexican Indian TeMexcal...an Indian sweat lodge. This traditional Indian ceremonial sweat lodge detoxes and purifies both the mind and the body. My partner and I spent about 90 minutes in this lodge with a Mexican Indian who led the ceremonial cleanse. Afterward, we both had a wonderful massage on the beach; leaving us both feeling relaxed, detoxed, and every bone and muscle in our bodies feeling like they were 10 years old again. Although my partner kept referring to the sweat lodge as the 'pizza oven' because of its physical architecture, he also benefitted from trying on something very new.
Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day: It's a New Year. Don't be stuffy, stale and boring this year. Try something new each day in your life. Go to work on a different route, try eating a different type of bread, mix up your workout routine. Above eveything else, make time for yourselves this year. Take a day or even a few hours for yourselves - no matter what it is. Downtime is just as important for our health as any other moment of the day!
