Today, here is a little story about why being able to change and adapt is necessary for good health:
There was a mighty tree in a field, surrounded by smaller trees. The mghty tree so so proud of his huge limbs and sturdy trunk - he stood so straight and tall; bowing to no one. The smaller trees in the field would sway and dance to the changing daily winds. The mighty tree would laugh and scowl at the smaller trees; calling them weak and feeble to sway and bow to the changing daily winds. He stood straight and tall - immobile and unheeding to those winds. One day, a mighty wind blew across the field. It blew and blew. The smaller trees bent and swayed to the wind. The mighty tree held his ground and fought the changing wind. Eventually, his limbs snapped off, his mighty trunk cracked and he fell to the ground - broken into many pieces. The mighty tree was dead. The parks dept. crew came and turned him into mulch. The smaller trees shook their leaves - this was a good reminder why they bent to the winds of change.
Here's Your Healthy Tip of the Day: I see many people who hold onto their old habits which are not good for them mentally and physically. If you do not bend and adapt to change, your mental and physical wellbeing will suffer in the long run. Be a supple tree!
