Sometimes, It Just Doesn't Happen Overnight

Patience is a virtue and when a person has been suffering from a chronic condition for several years, it is important to understand that quite often, it takes a certain course of time for the symptoms to dissipate.
Patient compliance is very important for the resolution of chronic conditions.  For example, if you are given a treatment prescription of one  session per week for 12 weeks with a reassessment of your condition on the 12th visit, it is crucial to follow the guidelines; only in this manner can a practitioner truly evaluate your progress.  Adjustments to the treatment protocol can be made according to the patient's progress and a more realistic diagnostic can be made for the patient's pace and degree of recovery.
Quite often, a patient will feel much better after 3 or 4 treatments and feel further care is not necessary.  This being said with the nature of chronic conditions,  there are peaks and lulls in any rehabilitative process.  Those patients who cease their course of treatment eventually find themselves a few months later to be in worse condition than before and have to begin a new course of treatments.  The result:  healing takes a much longer time, time and money is wasted.
Here's Your Tip of the Day:  If you have a chronic condition and are under the care of a healthcare practitioner, stay with the program.  You'll heal faster in the longrun and you'll be a happier and symptom-free individual.
